Now, we're looking for a dynamic leader to carry this mission forward, someone who can honor our legacy while reimagining how we educate the next generation of individual investors.The RoleAs Director of Education & Member Learning, you will own the full lifecycle of member education, spanning curriculum strategy, content development, and program delivery. You'll modernize our educational approach for today's learners while preserving the analytical rigor that has made our methodology effective for decades. Working closely with the marketing and operations teams, you'll ensure that the quality and relevance of our educational offering supports both member acquisition and retention.You'll report directly to the CEO and serve as a key member of the leadership team, with significant autonomy to shape strategy and drive results. You will lead and manage a team spanning home office education and magazine staff and volunteer educators and serve as the primary Home Office liaison to BIVA (BetterInvesting Volunteer Advisory Board), which leads our volunteer network and chapter development efforts.This is a broad role by design. BetterInvesting is a lean organization, and we're looking for someone who sees that as an opportunity to have meaningful impact, not a reason to hesitate. This position is remote-first: you can do this job from anywhere in the U.S., with occasional travel to our Troy, MI headquarters for key meetings and events.What You'll DoEducational LeadershipOwn the strategy, development, and delivery of all BetterInvesting educational programs, including online courses, webinars, workshops, and in-person eventsLead, develop, and manage a team spanning home office education and magazine staff and volunteer educators, setting clear expectations, coaching for growth, and holding the team accountable for resultsDevelop and manage the department budget, monitoring expenses and anticipating resource needsServe as the primary Home Office subject matter expert on BetterInvesting's core analytical framework (the Stock Selection Guide) and the educational resources built around itDesign and maintain a structured, sequenced curriculum built around the SSG, covering foundational concepts for beginners through advanced applications for experienced investorsDevelop new educational pathways that meet learners where they are, with clear progression from introductory to mastery-level contentLead the team to create compelling content across multiple formats: video tutorials, interactive tools, written guides, and live instruction. Work closely with marketing to ensure appropriate reach, deployment, and alignment with SEO and digital acquisition goalsEstablish metrics for educational effectiveness and continuously improve based on member outcomes, working with marketing to understand the impact of educational programming on member acquisition and retentionIdentify and cultivate relationships with subject matter experts and guest instructorsBIVA LiaisonServe as the primary Home Office point of contact for BIVAEquip and empower volunteers to deliver BetterInvesting's educational mission effectively, providing the tools, frameworks, training, and support they need to teach with confidence and consistencyCollaborate with BIVA to develop and refine educational content that volunteers can effectively deliver to chapters and investment clubsRepresent volunteer perspectives in Home Office strategy discussionsPublications AdvisoryOversee BetterInvesting Magazine and ensure editorial content aligns with the organization's educational mission and visionCollaborate with the Editor in Chief on content strategy to ensure consistency between published content and core SSG methodologyWho You AreRequiredDeep, genuine interest in individual investing and personal finance; you don't need to be a professional investor, but you have a working knowledge of fundamental stock analysis, believe in its power as a framework for everyday investors, and can make that conviction contagious to learners at every levelA genuine willingness to develop deep fluency in BetterInvesting's analytical frameworks; prior knowledge of the SSG is not requiredDemonstrated ability to take complex subject matter and build structured, sequenced educational programs around it, from foundational concepts to advanced applications; the content drives the curriculum, not the other way around1–2 years of direct experience designing and delivering online learning programs; online education requires distinct instructional design skills, and comfort with digital learning environments, asynchronous formats, and learner engagement strategies is essential for this roleExperience managing and developing a team, with the ability to set clear expectations, coach for growth, and hold people accountableStrong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex analytical concepts for non-expert audiencesComfort with quantitative analysis and financial calculations; the SSG is a fundamentals-based framework, and the ability to work fluently with numbers is essential to teaching it effectivelyBachelor's degree (Master's in Education, Instructional Design, Curriculum Development, or related field preferred)PreferredBackground in financial services, investment education, or personal finance, whether professional, academic, or as a committed individual investorPrior familiarity with the Stock Selection Guide or similar fundamental analysis frameworks is a plus, but not required; what matters is the ability and eagerness to develop genuine fluencyExperience with learning management systems and educational technologyTrack record of successful curriculum modernizationExperience working with volunteer organizations or distributed teamsYou'll Thrive Here If YouAre energized by the prospect of mastering a proven analytical framework and helping others experience it for the first timeFind satisfaction in making complex concepts click for learners at every levelBelieve in democratizing investment knowledge for everyday people, not just professionalsCan balance deep respect for proven methodology with appetite for innovationAre comfortable building on existing foundations and creating new systems where gaps existWant to make a measurable difference, not just manage programsWhy BetterInvesting?The Mission Matters Our products and tools exist to serve one purpose: helping regular people build wealth through disciplined, long-term investing.
