Transportation & Fleet Manager

We are seeking an experienced Transportation & Fleet Manager to join a leading company in the moving and relocation industry in Dulles, VA. This role is responsible for overseeing fleet operations, ensuring safety compliance, and optimizing transportation efficiency across household goods and commercial relocations. Join a dynamic team dedicated to delivering high-quality moving services while maintaining the highest safety standards.Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily fleet operations, including vehicle allocation and route planning.Ensure full compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and local transportation regulations.Implement and manage fleet safety programs and driver training initiatives.Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and coordinate repairs to minimize downtime.Manage driver performance, including safety metrics and incident investigations.Develop and enforce safety policies specific to moving and relocation operations.Track and analyze fleet performance data to improve efficiency and reduce costs.Coordinate logistics for household goods (HHG) and office & industrial (O&I) moves.Maintain accurate fleet records, including inspections, licenses, and certifications.Collaborate with operations teams to support seamless relocation services.Manage fuel usage, cost control, and vendor relationships.Lead accident prevention strategies and ensure timely reporting of incidents.Key Skills & Experience:Proven experience in fleet and transportation management within the moving/relocation industry.Strong knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and safety compliance regulations.Experience managing drivers, safety programs, and fleet maintenance.Ability to analyze data and implement operational improvementsExcellent leadership and communication skills.Willingness to work Saturdays as required.
