QUALIFICATIONS: Required:Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and computer skills are essential.Energetic, motivated and student-centered individual is sought.Ability to maintain atmosphere of fun and mutual respect.Willingness to join affiliated coaching association.Commitment to developing athletics in and out of season per MHSAA regulations.Preferred:Swim coaching experienceCPR/First Aid/AED CertificationMHSAA CAP I & II CertificationBachelor's DegreeJOB RESPONSIBLITIES:The Varsity Boys Swimming Coach will assist the Athletic Director in the promotion of the Boys Swim Program within Bridgman High School, throughout the community of Bridgman, as well as affiliated schools/athletic departments of the Bridgman Swim Co-op Program by:Adhere to and enforce all policies and procedures in compliance with Bridgman Public Schools, the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SAC) and the MHSAA.Provide leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of student-athletes, to include counseling team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters, when appropriate. Monitor the eligibility status and promote the academic progress of student-athletes.Manage the program within the framework of a balanced budget.Oversee the selection, purchase, fitting and maintenance of team equipment, to include uniforms, athletic equipment and supplies. Submit requests for repair, maintenance and improvement of facilities, when appropriate.Commitment to work on developing and conditioning players in and out of season per MHSAA regulations while allowing precedence for other in season sports.Supervise assistant coaches, volunteer coach and other support staff - conduct performance evaluations as appropriate.Participate in clinics, recreation and camp activities, as approved.Compile season statistics, reports and summaries as required by the Bridgman Athletic Department.Develop and publish team rules in collaboration with the Athletic Director and enforce team rules with appropriate disciplinary action.Cooperate with all coaches within the Bridgman Athletic Department coaching staff to enhance overall athletic department operations.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.NON-DISCRIMINATION CLAUSE:
