You're choosing to be part of a team where values guide our work, people come first, and relationships are built to last.WHAT YOU'LL DO:Preconstruction & EstimatingPrepare detailed MP cost estimates for:Central utility plants (boilers, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, heat exchangers, etc.)Process utility systems (clean steam, WFI, RO, compressed air, specialty gases, vacuum, waste neutralization)Electrical distribution, standby power, and controls supporting utility plants; not required but a plus if able.Develop estimates from conceptual through 100% construction documentsPerform quantity takeoffs from narratives, drawings, P&IDs, specifications, and equipment schedulesCreate assemblies and system-level pricing for complex utility systemsBuild cost models for plant equipment, piping systems, controlsFamiliarity with skid-mounted systems, prefabrication and modular utility plantsMentoring and teaching estimators, junior estimators and interns as neededTrade Coordination & ProcurementSolicit, analyze, and level subcontractor and vendor bids for Mechanical, Plumbing, Controls, & Equipment suppliers (boilers, chillers, pumps, skids, etc.)Conduct scope reviews and clarification meetings with subcontractorsIdentify scope gaps, overlaps, and risk areasSupport buyout and final subcontractor selectionBudgeting, GMP & Financial ControlDevelop and maintain MP budgets and cost plansSupport GMP development and validationPrepare escalation, contingency, and risk allowancesTrack estimate-to-budget alignmentProvide cost impact analysis for scope, design, or schedule changesSuggest and evaluate Value Management options to maintain budget and / or scheduleDesign & Engineering CollaborationWork closely with:Mechanical and electrical engineersProcess engineersOwners and facility engineersParticipate in design reviews focused on constructability, cost, and phasingLead MP value engineering and cost-reduction strategiesEvaluate alternative equipment, materials, and system designsRisk ManagementIdentify cost, schedule, and constructability risks related to utility plants and process systemsSupport risk registers, develop mitigation strategies and contingency planningKnowledge of commissioning and start-up requirementsDocumentation & ReportingProduce detailed estimate backups and narrativesPrepare bid comparisons, scope sheets, and cost summariesSupport executive and owner presentationsMaintain estimating databases and historical cost recordsWHAT YOU BRING:S. in either Mechanical engineering or related field, and/or an equivalent combination of 15+ years of technical training and construction experienceExperience should be in the local construction marketDemonstrate knowledge of the regional construction market and a keen understanding of costs and pricingKnowledge of construction contracts is a mustExcellent organizational, supervisory and decision-making and problem-solving skills are essentialExperience in construction estimating and related functions preferredKnowledge of commissioning and start-up requirementsAbility to work successfully in a team environmentMust have excellent time management and prioritization skillsA strong attention to detail, high level of ownership, organizational skills, controlled sense of urgency, and the ability to manage multiple, competing prioritiesAdvanced management or technical training preferredDemonstrate integrity, respect, and excellence in their workFluency in ExcelFluency in EnglishStrong knowledge of:HVAC and hydronic systemsSteam, chilled water, and condenser water plantsProcess piping and utility systemsExperience estimating design-build and GMP projectsProficiency with estimating and takeoff software (e.g., Sage, OST, Bluebeam, Excel, or similar)Ability to read and interpret:P&IDs / One-linesMechanical and electrical plansSpecifications and equipment schedulesWillingness and ability to take responsibility as a lead estimator for applicable projectsBENEFITS:BOND offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) retirement plan with company contribution, paid time off including vacation, sick leave, and holidays, employer-paid life and disability insurance, and access to additional voluntary benefits.The expected salary range for this role is $160,000 to $245,000 per year.
