Our expertise span multiple core segments of the heavy highway and bridge construction arena, across Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC.The CDL Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation and unloading of construction materials such as dirt, gravel, sand, and debris to and from job sites and designated disposal locations. This role requires strict adherence to DOT, FMCSA, and company safety standards while operating on public roadways and active construction sitesDuties and ResponsibilitiesTransport crushed rock, sand, gravel, and other construction materials to and from designated locationsSafely operate dump trucks on public roads and uneven jobsite terrainVerify materials being transported and ensure loads comply with weight and safety regulationsPerform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including engine compartment and safety componentsReport mechanical issues or safety concerns promptly for repair or maintenanceOperate vehicles in compliance with DOT, FMCSA, and company safety policies while en route, on job sites, and when returning to baseMaintain accurate delivery logs and ensure all required paperwork is completed and submitted at the end of each shiftClean and maintain the vehicle, including removal of residual materials after dumpingMaintain all required credentials, including CDL and Medical CertificationPerform other related duties as assigned by the Foreman or SuperintendentRequirementsAbility to adhere to strict safety protocols and precautions.Strong knowledge of traffic laws and regulations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a teamAbility to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to follow safety instructions, read project documentation, and communicate with supervisors and project teams.Valid Class A or B CDL.2+ years of experience in construction.Proficiency in rigging, load charts, and DOT securement.Follow oral and written directions and plansRequired to wear safety toe boots and four-inch sleeves on shirts, along with any additional PPE (hard hat, gloves, safety glasses, etc.)Ability to pass drug screening, background check, and fit-for-duty tests.
