Melt Plant Pit Operator Level 1

We are hiring motivated individuals to join our team as Entry-Level Melt Plant Pit Operators. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start a stable career in manufacturing. All tasks and job duties listed below will be performed on the small 4-million-pound rotary furnace.What You’ll DoWhile pouring the hot metal, skim the sows according to the expectations your supervisor gives, and communicate anything you may see of concern to your supervisor.After you have poured the sows, you will operate mobile equipment to pop the sows out of the molds with proper training. Once the sows are removed from the molds, you will work with coworkers to stencil, weigh and properly mark sows according to the companies expectations. Clean all of the metal off the sow molds and sweep the floor around you. Place all of the metal in the designated bins and place in the correct bunker.Check the lime feeder several times daily and add lime or change the bag with mobile equipment as needed. You will fill out the lime sheet located in the lime building with any and all of the steps that pertain to the lime feeder.Follow all Safety and Environmental standards provided to you through trainingRequirementsWorks safely and brings safety ideas and concerns to their supervisorAbility to follow directions and ask questions as neededAccept positive criticism from supervisor for continuous improvementMust be able to lift 50lbs 6-7 times dailyGood attitude and gets along with other coworkersAssist with daily operations of the melt plant and rotary furnaceOperate industrial equipment, including forklifts and hand tools.
