Appeals BAA Specialist

The purpose of this position is to coordinate appeals, exemptions and general inquiries. This class works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.The essential functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the class as necessary.Creates appeal files, enters property values from settled appeals, prepares and processes documentation relating to real property appeals, and enters value overrides for property appeals.Posts revised values after appeal review by appraisers.Monitors appeal productivity, report findings, and provide feedback to the department director.Provides appeal status reports and productivity reports to the department director.Sketches and prices new construction.Enters expiration/extension dates for legal residence after verifying documents.Schedules BAA conferences, monitors report dates and member terms.Performs related work as assigned.MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by specialized courses/training equivalent to completion of one (1) year of college.Over one year and up to and including two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license with an acceptable driving history.All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment.
