Grounds/Turf Management Internship

Position Overview:The Brockton Rox are seeking motivated, hardworking individuals for a Turf & Grounds Management Internship. This hands-on opportunity is ideal for students or recent graduates interested in sports turf management, horticulture, or facility operations. Interns will play an essential role in maintaining a safe, high-quality playing surface for players and an exceptional experience for fans. This includes all 48 home Rox games as well as additional non-gameday events.Please note this is an unpaid internship. College credit is applicable.Key Responsibilities:Assist with daily field preparation, including mowing, edging, and liningMaintain infield skin, pitcher's mound, and home plate areasSupport irrigation setup, monitoring, and repairsPerform turf care practices such as aeration, fertilization, and overseedingPrepare the field before games and assist with post-game cleanupHelp with tarp pulls and weather-related field protectionMaintain warning track, bullpens, and surrounding facility areasOperate and maintain basic groundskeeping equipmentFollow all safety procedures and organizational standardsQualifications:Pursuing or recently completed a degree in Turfgrass Management, Sports Management, or related field (preferred but not required)MUST be able to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidaysAbility to perform physical labor in various weather conditionsPositive attitude and ability to work as part of a teamAttention to detail and commitment to high-quality field conditionsPreferred Skills:Experience with landscaping or groundskeeping equipmentBenefits:Hands-on experience in a competitive baseball environmentMentorship from experienced grounds crew professionalsNetworking opportunities within the sports industryAcademic credit (if applicable)We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.Job Questions:What experience do you have landscaping equipment (if any)?
