Project Superintendent

Project SuperintendentThe Project Superintendent position will manage and control assigned projects, including overseeing field operations, site safety, productivity, schedule, quality work, and trade contractor and supplier coordination for a Commercial General Contractor. The position will work with the Senior Superintendent, Superintendent, Assistant Project Manager, and Project Manager, leading the project team. Responsibilities and duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned. All aspects of creating and maintaining a safe job site. Coordinates and supervises all construction activities. Creates & maintains construction schedule, identifies and solves problems. Orders materials and schedules inspections as necessary throughout the process. Organizes and directs all self-perform work on site. Directs all field personnel to achieve completion of the project on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to original plans and specifications. Core competencies: Construction knowledge: Professional expert, knowledge & skill in all aspects of technical construction. Computers: Able to operate computers, send/receive e-mails, and create spreadsheets, write a letter, and build a schedule using a scheduling program. Organization: Utilizes strong organizational skills. Communication: Displays strong & effective written and oral communication skills with owners, architects, engineers, team members, subcontractors, and neighbors, and employs effective listening skills. Problem-solving: Analyzes problems and makes sound decisions promptly based on goals, priorities, objectives, risks, implications, and costs. Interpersonal skills: Tactful and mature demeanor with well-developed interpersonal skills, including working well within a team and with diverse personalities. Work skills: Well-developed interpersonal skills. A self-starting, highly motivated, and goal-oriented individual. Excellent attention to detail with emphasis placed on quality. Experience: 10+ years Qualifications: A demonstrated understanding of construction means and methods associated with the renovation and construction of commercial and institutional buildings and site work related thereto. The ability to effectively communicate in both written and spoken English. Proficiency with spreadsheets, Email, and other software used in the construction industry Education: 4-year college degree preferred Physical demands: Ability to stand for long periods, Ability to sit for long periods, must be able to lift 50 lbs. occasionally, ability to work required over time to accomplish the desired team objectives & goals Work environment: Professional
