The future is here!What you'll do on a typical dayThe Director, Institutional Research serves as the lead for data collection and analysis for the college and is responsible for all external data reporting to state, federal, and national entities. Reporting to the Senior Director, Institutional Effectiveness & Innovation, the Director, Institutional Research supports planning and assessment functions and must work collaboratively across the college to ensure data needs are met. This position operates primarily in a remote capacity; however, the employee is expected to report to campus when necessary to support departmental and College initiatives. Responsibilities:Leads and actively participates in the collection, extraction, and organization of institutional data to support planning, accreditation, and student success initiatives Utilizes business intelligence and analytics technologies and develops dynamic and user-driven reporting of institutional data using these tools Provides data updates to campus leadership regarding enrollment trends and budget projections for use in planning and decision-making Serves as the Data Coordinator to ensure that all reports are submitted on time to the NCCCS Office; also serves as IPEDS Keyholder to ensure the timely reporting and completion of IPEDS and other Federal reports Oversees and monitors the reporting of data for the College related to the NCCCS Performance Funding Measures, provides timely updates as data are received and submitted, verifies the accuracy of the data, and works with faculty and staff to use the results of the data to improve programs and services Conducts regular and systematic institutional studies in which comparative and longitudinal data are compiled, analyzed, and reported to provide information on early momentum metrics, course success, retention and completion rates, and transfer performance Provides data for accreditation purposes (SACSCOC) and assists the institutional accreditation liaison with documents such as the Institutional Summary Form, Substantive Change prospectuses and the Fifth Year Interim Report Assists in evaluating assessment plans for student learning outcomes and identifying improvements to College programs and services Manages survey development, distribution, and data analysis to obtain relevant information from graduates, current students, faculty, staff, and community partners Provides consultative support to the campus community in research design and construction, data collection, and assessment processes Conducts campus IRB process Maintains high level of sensitivity, understanding, and respect for a diverse academic environment, inclusive of students, faculty, and staff of varying social, economic, cultural, ideological, and ethnic backgrounds Supports the mission, vision, and values of the College and attends College events and meetings Performs other duties as assignedRequirementsWhile this role is primarily remote, the College reserves the right to terminate or alter the telework agreement at any time based on College needs. Additionally, at the discretion of the employee, additional time on campus is acceptable in coordination with the supervisor and subject to space availability. uties as assigned Your attributesPosition QualificationsRequired:Master's degree in a relevant field (Educational research, higher education, data analytics, etc...) or Bachelor's degree and equivalent relevant experience Experience in data retrieval, analysis and research Preferred:Experience with Ellucian, Informer, Colleague Reporting and Operating Analytics (CROA), Tableau, Power BI, SQL, SAS, online surveying Experience with federal and state data reporting Experience in data visualization Experience in a higher education setting Work environmentA climate controlled, contact center environment - filled with amazing people, incredible students and career opportunities.
