School Bus Monitor / Special NeedsCaring, compassionate individuals needed to assist school bus drivers during the transportation of special needs students to-and-from school daily and on field trip activities.BENEFITS & PERKS:Weekly pay$17.50 per hour25-hour guaranteeDirect depositPaid trainingPaid company holidaysSummer work also availableGreat opportunity for regular workOptional supplement insurance benefits (including Accident, Disability, Cancer) at Affordable Group Rates QUALIFICATIONS:Ideal candidate...Must be at least 18 years of ageHas a clean criminal history (background checks will be required)Is compassionate and willing to learn and support our childrenCan satisfactorily complete and pass all training and attend safety/in-service meetings in order to maintain qualificationsPossesses a high degree of attention to detail and considerable dexterity to safely use various types of restraints, secure wheelchairs, etcCan relate to and work well with children, and maintain effective pupil behavior managementHas high-level professional and diplomacy skills to work with students, fellow employees, parents, and school district personnelExhibits strong communication and interpersonal skillsCan lift and assist students when necessary RESPONSIBILITIES:Hours: Part-Time, Hourly, Mon-FriDemonstrate compassionAssist in the safe transportation, loading and unloading of students with disabilities during bus routesBe on time and complete all assigned bus runsComplete training on bus lift operation, the securing of student wheelchairs in the bus and the securing of students into their seats with 5 point harnesses and/or other apparatuses that may be requiredComplete training on student support and supervision during transitOperate the bus lift to assist students on and off the busCollaborate with the bus driver during the bus route to ensure a safe and efficient bus runMonitor student safety and needs during transitCommunicate relevant and important information about any occurrence on the bus trip to families and school staffFollow all company and district policiesBe flexible to the pace and needs of the children and the programEnsure compliance to all safety requirementsMaintain cleanliness of the bus, report issues, and keep inventory of cleaning suppliesDisplay the highest ethical and professional behavior in working with fellow employees, supervisors, students, parents, and school personnel, always promoting company goodwill Experience the team difference!
