Job Purpose: The Inventory Control Clerk Floater will assume the responsibilities of the inventory control clerk role across multiple Illinois facilities within the organization. The floater will fill the gaps in the work schedules and rotate around different buildings.
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.
Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.
Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.
Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on-time.
Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.
Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager
Spends 80% or more of the workday performing inventory related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet. 20% or less of the workday is spent working at a computer terminal.
Clerks are required to travel to and assist at other facilities as needed.
Additional Responsibilities
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.
Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.
Qualifications
Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.
Minimum 1-3 months related experience and/or training in warehouse environment.
Prior experience operating material handling equipment is required. Order selector, cherry picker/high lift experience is preferred, willingness to be certified and use is required.
Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).
PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.
Requirements
MUST HAVE RELIABLE TRANSPORATION.
MUST HAVE A WORKING CELL PHONE (to receive daily work assignment)
ABILITY TO START AT ANY RJW ILLINOIS LOCATIONS UPON NOTIFICATION.
Education and/or Experience Required:
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to read and write emails.
Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.
Forklift certification a plus.
